Tackling Childcare Pakistan: Creating Family-Friendly Workplaces in Pakistan: A Landscape Analysis and Market Research Initiative

The International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, in collaboration with the Pakistan Business Council has launched its Tackling Childcare Initiative in Pakistan: Creating Family-Friendly Workplaces in Pakistan. AASA Consulting is engaged as the research firm at national level to conduct the study spread over 5 months.

The objective is to conduct a landscape analysis of Family-Friendly policies by engaging with key stakeholders, including the government, private sector, care providers, industry associations and parents. Three key pillars of the exercise are demand side analysis, supply side review and mapping of government regulations and policies. The study sample covers an e-survey of 200 organizations, in-depth interviews with 100 plus employees, meetings with policy stakeholders (federal & provincial level), and finally over 20 interviews and site visits to childcare providers.

The study will also aid in increasing awareness of the business case, accelerate the implementation of good practices amongst employers and help improve the overall enabling environment for employer supported childcare.
